View Certificate Alert?
-
Ever since I added domain mapping, Firefox insists on throwing up a “View Certificate” alert when I load up my site on the first launch. Is this a FF problem? A weirdness on WP’s end? Any way to get rid of this annoying dialog?

The dialog says:
“You have attempted to establish a connection with “jamesbetelle.com”. However, the security presented belongs to”*.wordpress.com”. It is possible, though unlikely, that someone may be trying to intercept yoour communication with this website.
If you suspect the certificate shown does not belong to “jamesbetelle.com”, please cancel the connection and notify the site administrator.”

There is no explicit way to to that, even through the advanced certificate options in Firefox. Still, the question remains, is there a bigger issue here, with certs not validating?

I’ll pass this on to Andy.
In the meantime, this extension is useful:
https://addons.mozilla.org/thunderbird/2131/
I use it for several sites. -
The cert. needs to be reregistered to allow for non-wordpress.com domains. There are ones that can be assigned to a collection of domains instead of just one. I’m sure Andy will take care of this.

I’m still waiting for Google to fix theirs. :)
Note the missing ‘www’. I get it as being incorrect as well. :(

Are you going to https://jamesbetelle.com/ to view your blog? If so, drop the (s) and use the following link:
We cannot have SSL certificates for each mapped domain, so all https links point to your actual wordpress.com blog name, not the mapped one.
If you are getting errors when visting the link I suggested, please send in feedback.
