Using WP Rest API with the Business plan

  • hello. I am currently evaluating the business plan of WordPress.com for one of my websites currently on a self hosted WordPress instance. The content on this website is mostly managed through WP-Rest API.

I understand that WordPress.com supports WP-Rest api as documented at https://developer.wordpress.com. However, I want to confirm the following:

    1. will I need to first make a developer account and a developer application on https://developer.wordpress.com to use the rest api on a website hosted on WordPress.com or I can use it directly as I do on a self hosted WordPress
    2. https://developer.wordpress.com/docs/api/ mentions a number of endpoints. Can I add more endpoints by using a plugin for managing things such as 301 redirects or the endpoints are restricted to the one’s already defined.
    3. Can I use Google Adsense with a business account.
  • Hi! You’ve landed on the general support forums for WordPress.com sites. We’re not really focused on the API side of things; so if your first two questions are not answered by the documentation, then it’s likely that you’ll get a clearer idea of what you need and what you can do with the API via the developer contact form at the link below:
    https://developer.wordpress.com/contact/

I can answer your third question though – yes, you can definitely use Google Adsense on a WordPress.com site which has the Business plan!

Was there anything in particular you were aiming to do with the site, aside from making use of the API? Feel free to share a little more information about what you’d like to achieve with it, we’re happy to try to point you in the right direction!
