Upcoming Events widget does not display recurring event happening today

This has been posted before but still seems to be a bug. One-off events are shown by the widget on the day of the event, but recurring events do not show. Ideally, it would show events occurring on the same day, whether recurring or not. Thanks for any help!

Hi there,
It is a know issue that some recurring events are not displayed correctly, and this is out of our control to resolve since it is due to how the calendar info is communicated to us via the email link you enter when you set up the widget.
Essentially in some cases the formatting for recurring events is changed, so when we look up events based on the calendar link, they do not show as recurring for us (and we have no way to see that info)

In this case, for the most accurate list of events possible you may wish to switch to single events (instead of recurring ones) as those function correctly and without issue.
