unwanted embedded ads

Links to the University of Phoenix are embedded in my text. How did they get there and how do I get rid of them?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

At WordPress.com, we sometimes display discreet AdSense advertisements on your blog to help pay the bills. This keeps free features free.
The only way to get rid of them is to pay for a no-ads upgrade. -
So you do this without any consultation from me? That stinks. I realize that I’m not paying for anything…at least not yet. Can you tell me if the ads I see are indeed from wordpress?

If you bought the upgrade, the ads are now gone. If you are still seeing them, try clearing your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and take another look. If they still aren’t gone, contact support directly at http://support.wordpress.com/ . Do remember that since it is the weekend, and since it can sometimes takes a few hours or even a few days for a paypal payment to complete (depending on payment method through paypal), they may not disappear for up to a day.

Also remember that the information about ads is in the agreement which you agreed to when you signed up here. If you didn’t read down that far (and most people don’t) it’s understandable that you’d be surprised, but not really justification for outrage.
