Two Step Authenticiation

  • Hi,

How do I turn off two step authentication? I can not get the code part to work, and now I can not edit my blog on my iphone or ipad?

    Thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    • Login to WordPress.com
Place the mouse on your Gravatar on the upper right corner of your screen.
On the popped up menu, click on Settings
On the right hand side of the Settings page, click on Security
Click the Disable next to current Status ON in green color.

However I strongly recommend you secure your WordPress with 2 step authentication.

What is the exact problem you are facing?

To be able to login to iPhhone / iPad you need to generate Application Passwords.

On the same Two Step Authentication page, scroll down to the Application Passwords section.
In the Application Name text box enter iPhone App
      Click on Generate Password
Use this generated password to login to WordPress App on your iPhone.
Similarly generate another Application Password for iPad App and use it to login to WordPress app on your iPad.

Please note that once Two Step Authentication is enabled, you cannot use your usual WordPress.com password to login to any of the apps. SO you need to generate separate application specific passwords as described above.
