Trying to Edit Dara's display of Text Cutting into the Photo
-
Hi, I’m using the Dara theme. Is there a way to change the way the text cuts out a box of the photo that coincides with the Image of the article?
It takes a big chunk out to display text. I’m not sure if this is a default for dara or not, or if its something that can be changed.
Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

You can give this a try in your Custom CSS Customizer panel:
@media screen and (min-width: 768px) { .post-thumbnail + .entry-header { margin-top: 60px; } }
That should eliminate the “cutout” effect on screen sizes where it would normally be present.
Let me know how it goes.

By the way, how do you learn how to code? Is there something you would recommend for beginner bloggers?

Sure! Learning some CSS can be extremely helpful for customizing your site as a beginner.
One of the key things to learn for custom CSS is learning how to target the right element to make the changes you want, using something called a browser inspector. Here are some good resources:

And here are a few more beginner CSS guides:
If you prefer learning through courses or videos, there are a ton of those out there as well, from Skillcrush and HTML Dog to Lynda.com (paid, but some libraries offer a free subscription) and Learn CSS Layout.
Have fun on your CSS adventure!
