Triton Lite: Use Featured Slider even when using a static page
-
Greetings!
I’m using the Triton Lite wordpress theme in my wordpress.com blog. I’m opting for a static page for my front page, but if i do that, the slider (that should showcase my sticky posts) doesn’t appear. Is there a way to make the slider appear even if I use a static page?
Thanks!

In a word “no”.
Featured Post Slider
The theme has a dynamic featured post area (shown just below the site title on the home page) which is a snap to use: just add big featured images—at least 950 pixels in width and 270 pixels in height—to your Sticky Posts and you are good to go.

“Home page” is misleading: the homepage can display the latest posts or a static page. The posts slider shows on the latest posts page.

“Home page” and “front page” are not the same thing when it comes down to how a theme is designed and coded. Is that correct?
Apparently so for the theme I’m using for a work-site hosted via Netscape Solutions using wp.org.

Home page = front page = landing page = main blog URL.
So WP confuses inexperienced users when they right about the “home page” but they mean the default homepage only (forgetting the static front option), or the special template of various new themes. -
Yes. The language is sloppy though: technically there is a difference, so the support documents are confusing when addressing the issue for themes with special front page templates.

And when I write about what they write, I should write about what they write instead of what they right…

Thanks for the replies! Since I can’t use the featured image slider on Triton, I recently tried using the gallery type=”slideshow” feature. It works but It seems i can’t change the settings on the slideshow gallery. Again, thanks for the help!
