Transfering a domain name to wordpress
-
I am currently registered with another registar for both hosting and domain name, However, their hosting isn’t supporting php anymore and I am in the process to create a new website with WordPress. As I am not allowed to keep my domain name with the current registar without hosting, I would like to move it here to wordpress. I have a EPP code but how can I transfer my domain name to wordpress?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello

Welcome to WordPress! I hope that your needs will be better taken care of here.
Unfortunately, WordPress does not accept incoming Domain transfers. That is briefly discussed here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#transferring-a-domain-to-wordpress-com
But do not despair!Since you have an EPP code, your domain is probably eligible for a transfer. There are 2 routes you can take:
First is to transfer the domain to another registrar, then map the domain to WordPress. You will need a paid plan to do this. A listing of common domain registrars with links to instructions on how to change the nameservers is found here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/#instructions-for-common-domain-providersThe second route, if you absolutely want to keep the domain and hosting together is to find a different hosting service that can accept a domain transfer. This is known as self-hosting, or sometimes a WordPress.Org installation.
This would give you even more control over your site, and what you can do with it. You can read about the differences between hosting here at WordPress.Com and at other providers in:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/Give all this a read, and if you have any questions, please do ask!
