The subscriber role has gone

    There was no point to that role so it has been removed.

    If someone was a subscriber on a blog for some reason then they still are on that blog but they have ‘no role’.

    It had no effect on the “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” in Options.

    So yes it has gone but no it won’t be missed.
