Text Widget

I’ve been trying to embed things on my website using the Text Widget. For example, Mailchimp e-mail sign-up and a Google+ Badge. I’ve followed all the directions, but the embed code shows up on the site instead of the images. I’m usually pretty savvy with this kind of thing. What am I doing wrong?

Blogger installed plugin capability does not exist on WordPress.COM blogs and there is no upgrade you can purchase here that changes that reality. You are confusing WordPress.ORG and WordPress.COM. For that type of functionality you’d need a self-hosted site running on a paid web hosting service.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/You cannot use the MailChimp embed code and cannot create a pop-up on a wordpress.COM hosted blog. You can create a sign up page on MailChimp only.
If you want to use MailChimp with your WordPress.com site here’s the info from MailChimp Support http://kb.mailchimp.com/article/how-to-add-a-mailchimp-signup-form-to-your-wordpress-blog
