Subscribe without an email service provider?

  • Hi all.

I’d like to add a button or form to allow people to get notified of any new blogs that I post, but I don’t want to use a email service provider. I don’t actually care if I get subscribers’ email addresses.

    How can I do this?

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

That button is already on your site :)

All WordPress.com sites display a follow button by default in the action bar at the bottom right corner. Visitors with a WordPress.com account will be subscribed to your posts in the Reader when they click it, and optionally to email notifications as well depending on their account settings. And visitors without an account will be prompted to subscribe via email when they click that.

You can also add the subscription form block to any post, page or widget area in your theme. This form lets someone sign up to get notifications via email, whether or not they have a WordPress.com account:

    https://wordpress.com/en/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/subscribe-block/

For WordPress.com followers you’ll see their username under Users ->All Users ->Followers. We don’t show you their email address, nor do we show whether or not they’re subscribed to email notifications or in the Reader only.

For email-only followers, you’ll see their email address under Users ->All Users ->Email followers.

Let me know if you have any questions about this :)
