sub menus

I cannot create a sub menu from a page I have just created, when I save it, it reverts back to a menu. I have created many in the past but today it is not working with any pages I try and create into sub-menus.

The entire bar is the menu. You can add items to is such as Categories and sub-categories and Pages and sub-pages.
Pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ we bloggers create are static and cannot automatically update. But the dynamic categories pages created by the software will automatically update.
Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts (not pages) and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page. We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can create a custom menu and add the dynamic categories pages into the custom menu.

davidbuckett did you ever figure out what the problem was because i am having the same issue

no, it is doing it with all my pages. I tried to change some of my older pages that are already menus into sub-menus and it does the same thing with those, just goes back to a menu after saving. I can swap the order of the menus but not make them sub-menus.
