Storytime With John blog restricted?
-
I have just found out that one of my new favorite WP blogs, , has had its access to other blogs restricted. I, among John’s nearly 11,000 other followers, am chagrinned and would like to register my unhappiness with the situation. I very much hope there is an easy answer that can get John liberated and back on my comments threads. Thank you for your help.

When any blogger violates the Terms of Service by speed liking many blogs and speed following many blogs in a short time frame they are behaving liked spammers behave.
The Terms of Service Staff note their repeated violations, warn them and disable the social features on their blogs. They also encourage them to use advise them that they can use an external RSS feed reader (eg. Feedly.com), that if they genuinely need to follow so many blogs.
This in no way stops them from submitting actual and meaningful comments on other bloggers blog posts.
It prevents them only from mass following and mass liking and mass sharing ie. it prevents them from using social features as spamming tools, as they are clearly motivated to do so by their desire to draw attention and traffic back to their own blogs.

P.S. It’s important to note that we cannot delete the spam likes, shares and spam followers from our blogs at this time.

Thanks, Timethief. If the blogger sincerely believed that his activity was not spam, what recourse does he have?
