Still waiting for my domain to transfer after 2 weeks. What have I missed?
-
Hi, I recently initiated the transfer of my domain (tawnysoup.com) from wordpress.com to zume.io. I’ve unlocked the transfer lock, given zume my authorization code, I’ve even turned privacy protection off. A couple days ago I also updated my contact info as I noticed my home address was outdated (i opted out of the 60 day lock).
I was told the transfer would take 5-7 days, sometimes a bit more. It has now been 17 days as of me writing this and I’ve heard no word about progress on the transfer. Zume.io still says my domain is ‘pending transfer’ and wordpress hasn’t sent me any email or prompted me on the website to confirm the transfer. It’s been dead silent. I need my website to transfer asap as I’m looking for work and my website acts as my portfolio. Does anyone know what I might have missed?

Hi there!
I just checked the status of the domain, and I can see that it’s ready for transfer. We sent you the transfer code via email as well. However, it looks like we haven’t yet received a transfer request, which is why the transfer process hasn’t yet started on our end.
Can you confirm if you have entered the transfer code (also known as the EPP code or authorization code) with your new registrar? Soon after you enter the transfer code, they request the transfer, so it starts from their end. It seems we have yet to receive that transfer request.
You can try entering the transfer code with zume and start the transfer again from their end. We’ll be happy to check again to see if the transfer process is initiated.

As per your advice I went to zume’s end to try and restart the process and I was informed that I had been sent a verification email from them to a non-existent email. That explains the wait time! I explained that I was expecting the verification email to come to the one I was replying from, and they sorted things out on their end so I was able to continue the transfer. Thanks for helping me figure out what was wrong so I could get things moving along!
Cheers
