Well posting the link in essence can amount to promoting that site. People click links and posting in a public forum lets them know that you know what they are doing.

I’ve been fighting this mess for over year( they have aliases)—first time I’ve posted about it. I was hoping someone else had experience dealing with them.

I’m so sorry – that truly sucks. devblog came up with this > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/02/06/protecting-your-images-online-from-theft/

Thanks timethief….I’ve done all the above. This is a new way of stealing info and hopefully wordpress will take notice cause Picsicio.us are using their bandwidth. Here is an article at google which talks about the new stealing practice of these crooks. Google and Bing both archive your photos. The difference in Picsicio and Google are in the linkback. Picsicio links back to itself—google links to your website.http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Webmasters/thread?tid=3929aaab2bc3254e&hl=en&start=240

You can try filing a DMCA violation notice with their web hosting company although the host is in China, and the owner is in Russia, so that might not do a lot of good.

Anyone can hotlink any images at WordPress.com that are not on a private blog.

This post needs to be removed. I’ve been informed that the site above who stole my content—could link to a virus. One person opened the link and something started downloading to their computer.
It would be nice if a moderator came along and removed this post. I think that would be best.

What I would do is post a number of images. When they copy them, remove them from your post and upload more with the same name which says “picsicio steal copyrighted material”, or similar.
-
@tandava108: You can’t replace an uploaded picture that easily:

You can also add a Watermark to your photos (as many sites do this to prevent theft). It will help discourage them from it.
The best places to put the Watermark are usually in the direct Center, and/or repeated throughout the image. It makes removing it harder.
Good luck! :)

airodyssey: actually, sometimes you can. I’m not sure what makes it work in certain cases and not in others, but you can try.

Thanks for the suggestions. They have actually stolen my watermarked photos before and photoshopped them out.
I have decided to just keep on keeping on. My blog is about high resolution photos and that is what I deliver to my readers. It’s what people come to my blog to see—-my garden images.
So I will just hope I can beat them to the top of google rank first.
I was advised by a lawyer not to try and defame them in any way. You can get sued big time for that. It’s not advised to harass them. Google advertises with them for Chrome. If I defame the site—-Google could come after me too.
It’s very sticky situation.

Stating things that occurred and that are easily tracked via the timestamps of posting is not defamation, of course, but it’s entirely your call how much conflict you want in your life.
If Google ads are on the site, report them to Google. This is actually terrific news: that they have a Google ads account. Google will look at it and make their own judgement and in all likelihood pull their accounts entirely. I do this every day, reporting sites to google. See where it says “Ads by Google”? Click on it and Report Abuse.
