SPUN theme: Widgets on Front Page
-
I’m building a site with the SPUN theme, and the front page will have semi-permanent “posts.” So I added CSS to remove the “Older Posts” lozenge and + sign at the bottom, but now I can’t seem to get widgets to show up underneath. I’d appreciate any help I could get on this, or please let me know if I should post in another forum. Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
So I added CSS to remove the “Older Posts” lozenge and + sign at the bottom…
Clicking on the plus sign reveals the footer widgets. So you’ve removed the means of displaying them. The Widgets section of the Spun theme guide says:
Spun supports three columns of widgets in the site’s footer, tucked away in a toggle area underneath your main content. Add some widgets by going to Appearance → Widgets, then click on the plus sign to toggle the widget area open or closed…

Thank you, that’s what I thought. I couldn’t seem to figure out how to hide the “older posts” lozenge on its own without including the plus sign.
Or is there a way to make the widgets show all the time? I really don’t think people would know or think to click on the plus sign to reveal them.

I think that fix, if possible, would, require CSS customization.

You might also consider changing the text from a “+” to “widgets,” which might expand the toggle circle to a caplet shape, as is the case with the “older posts” toggle.
