Before the code worked within the page, even if the visitor has not installed Spotify.

The code has always required Spotify to be installed, that’s how Spotify designed it.

If Spotify wasn’t installed, it simply prompted you to download and install Spotify.

@staff-blorbo: Sorry to insist but before spotify worked differently.
I am moderator for 6 years in the spanish forum and have tried almost all the features of WordPress.com.
And another volunteer with extensive experience in embed codes, says the same as me.

El código correcto para que el tema se oyese, aún sin ser usuario de spotify, es el primero que puso @airodyssey, pero debe haber algún problema de “comunicación” entre spotify y wordpress ya que no funciona (más concretamente el botón de “Play”, como puedes comprobar tu mismo en la página de soporte que también te enlazo @airodyssey.

It is possible that Spotify has changed periodically, I suppose.

I have been an employee here and a user of Spotify (and their embeds elsewhere) since before the Spotify embed existed here, and I have always recalled it requiring Spotify to be installed.

Regardless though, all we do is request the embedded player from Spotify. The player actually comes from them, so any changes made to the player itself would be from them. We don’t actually have any control over the player.
