Sponsorship/Partner page with logos and link – allowed?
-
Hi there
I’ve read the following documentation:
https://wordpress.com/types-of-blogs/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/sponsored-posts/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/
http://en.wordpress.com/tos/however I would like someone to clarify if what I intend to do is allowed or not before purchasing a business plan.
I’m gonna travel for 15/18 bike touring and I will document my trip on a blog to both raise sponsorship funding for my trip and for two charity organizations.
I might have affiliate links of products I will be using or for example amazon affiliate links to the book I’ll read. I’ll very likely have a donate button and or link to a crowdfunding page or something like that.
While I think of of the above should be within WordPress.com TOS there is a grey area I need clarification on.
I will try to have technical partners/sponsor and I would like to have a page with their logos and a link to their sites. For an example see this: http://www.simonemoro.com/?q=en/content/partnersWould a page like that be within the TOS? It would be a deal breaker because while I dont want to self-host nor manage the installation of wordpress myself it’s definitely the route I’ll have to take if this is not allowed on WordPress.com
I would like to use wordpress.com to avoid having to manage the installation, updates and the like. Not to mention possible sudden media exposure that is difficult to manage especially being on the road on a bike.
Thank you for reading and thank you very much to anyone who will respond.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Should I give up? There’s no wordpress.com employee that can answer this fairly simple question?

It’s not gonna be a banner but a page with a collection of logos and links to the respective companies exactly like this one:
http://www.simonemoro.com/?q=en/content/partnersI will contact several companies to sponsor me supplying technical materials for example: bike, camping equipment, technical clothing etc.

Okay so your answer is “yes you will be compensated”. Therefore the answer is no you cannot do that on a WordPress.COM hosted blog. There is no blogger initiated advertising allowed here at all. You need to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting and set up your own wordpress.ORG install.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
