SPF record for WordPress.com hosted site

  • Hi,

This isn’t actually related to my own site. I’m a web developer who has a client on a business plan on wordpress.com and using a custom domain.

They have a contact form plugin that’s sending email notifications that are going to spam.

So I need to add an SPF record to allow the wordpress.com servers to send email on behalf of her domain name.

I can’t find ANYWHERE what to put in this SPF record.

Does anyone know what the entry for wordpress.com servers is?

    Thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Just realised the forum added “The blog I need help with is wintle.wordpress.com”. This is INCORRECT. The site is the site of a client of mine. I can’t post the URL here. But it is wordpress.com hosted.

  • Hi there,

If the site is on the Business plan, then you have access to our live chat support. You can contact our support team at https://wordpress.com/help/contact

  • Thanks. My client is on that but she’s new and non-technical. I’d basically be relaying messages through her.

Is there not a standard SPF rule that allows wordpress.com servers to send email for a domain?

Seems like a pretty generic enquiry that’s very hard to get an answer too.

  • The SPF record will depend on the email host – since you haven’t shared the site’s URL, we do not have enough info to advise better.

WordPress.com does not offer email hosting, but if your client purchased GSuite through us, you can follow the instructions from here: https://support.google.com/a/answer/33786?hl=en.
