SoundCloud widget for wordpress.com

@masterclasslady the buy-button can be linked to any mp3-shop, like itunes or amazon. I would say more exposure and virality benefits the artist.

@eric – it’s the “sharing” aspect that I find problematic. Currently, Itunes or Amazon give you a limited listen to the track before you download it as a paid digital product.
True, this does not stop people from sending it to others after they have downloaded the track, but the Soundcloud format actually promotes the “sharing” aspect.
Where is this “buy” button? I can’t see it when I access the site. The promo video basically talks about sharing your music files – no mention of buying a recorded product.

An artist isn’t going to soundcloud anything they didn’t want to only sell through commercial avenues.
As an artist/blogger who is sharing their songs with people on soundcloud I am all for this

This looks like a good widget, but I can’t see its advantage over the ReverbNation tune widgets, which I’d also really like to see a wordpress.com shortcode for….

Why wordpress don’t listen to us? It seem so easy to add a widget/…please wordpress, do something!

I saw the soundcloud site. Seemed to be an excellent application. After joining for FREE and uploading four of my Talks in .wav format, I took the html code of 1 and 2 of my Talks that was displayed in SHARE button. When I pasted in the Text widget of my blog, it did appear in the Main Sidebar. (Please see the last two items.) Clicking the link directly takes you to soundcloud site where one can listen or download etc. No player is required in WP.

A ‘No’ should not deter anyone from using wordpress. Why should you deny yourself the privilege of using an eminently good one like wordpress? There are other workarounds like giving in wp a link to soundcloud etc.

I’m currently working on a soundcloud widget which is in test at my site. The code will be soon available for all; after I’ve ironed out those small critting bugs crawling all over my desktop opening the plugin ;)
http://development.artistblog.me/2009/03/soundcloud-plugin/ has more information and a link to an early demo of the plugin.

It would be really good to get proper SoundCloud support in wordpress.com > I noticed that there is official Posterous support which works really nice but really would press on WordPress!

+1, please make it also work on the free blogs… would be awesome :)

We are an upcoming indie band, and would love to have a widget of soundcloud’s on WP.com.
