SoundCloud widget for wordpress.com
-
Hi,
it would be great if wordpress.com would support soundcloud widgets with a widget shortcode like[soundcloud track="flickermood"]
SoundCloud is arguably the best way to send, receive and distribute music on the web. Its currently very fast-growing community of 25 000+ artists and labels are using soundcloud to get their music out to other producers, fans and music blogs. Some people call it “Flickr for music”, some “cloud services for bands/labels”. Here’s some coverage:

the embed code is a straight-forward flash embed, no special requirements.
cheers,
eric [founder and cto, soundcloud.com] -

yes – there is a better way :) There is a link o Automattic at the bottom of the forum. http://automattic.com/ and there is contact info there.
That’s the best way to have your idea heard

BTW – all you folks posting your support – it doesn’t mean beans unless you are hosted here at wordpress.COM. And none of you has your blog linked in your user name as explained in the sticky at the top of the forum. (Go into your dashboard -> users -> your profile -> then scroll down to ‘contact info’. In the spot where it says ‘website’ fill in the address of your blog and save the changes.
Now… when you comment here and on other blogs, your name will link to your blog. If you do this before you post your request for help, it will allow forum volunteers to be able to help you quicker since they won’t have to ask you for a link and wait until you come back to post one.)I also find it mighty curious that none of you has ever posted in the forums before today.

I BIG + 1 from me. Check out the nightmare I just had with trying to get a different audio player to work:

Then I tried out the Soundcloud widget and I finally got my music on my blog properly. If there had been a Soundcloud plugin for WordPress it would have saved me literally a couple days of work.

hiddendriveways – if you are self-hosted, you are in the wrong forum. This forum is for blogs hosted at wordpress.COM.
-
Gee whiz. Excuse me. I thought this was a thread for people who wanted an integrated Soundcloud player for WordPress.

-
@hiddendriveways – no, this forum is for blogs hosted at wordpress.COM, which is totally different from wordpress.ORG. The original poster specifically says wordpress.COM.

Doesn’t Soundcloud decrease revenue for the artist because of the “sharing” aspect of the format?
I see there is a “buy” option, but the digital store is not a known entity like Itunes or Rhapsody.
