  I have an idea for a website (www.novicereviews.wordpress.com) but it is already taken. However it hasn’t been active since 2009. I was wondering if there was a way the old one can be taken down so I can take that domain name. Thanks in advanced!

  The only way to get that website is if the current owner agrees to transfer it to you. You can try commenting on the site and see if you get a response.
