Search Engines and Telling People about Your Blog
-
Like many of you, I am new to WordPress blogging. I have set up a cartoon for public
consumption. However, I do not know how to make my blog accessible to both
search engines or members within this blogesphere. I’ve used the catagories, but I feel I am missing something.Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I submitted my site here. Just submit it on the right where it says to the top 40 search engines. But don’t submit it to thousands of search engines unless you want thousands of email verifications:
Also try emailing other similiar sites like yours and asking for a link exchange on each other’s blog rolls. This way you can get some traffic from their visitors. But not everyone emails you back.

You can also take a look at:
http://www.masternewmedia.org/rss/top55/Lots of Blog and RSS submission areas. Remember, your wordpress blog is also a RSS feed, just tack on /feed/ at the end.
For instance:
http://botb.wordpress.com/feed/And you can submit yourself to RSS feeds. Pretty cool.

Thanks everyone for the great advice. To summarize, I can do the following;
1. phritzysworld.wordpress.com where is says “The top 40 search engines.”
2. To add it the word feed at the end of my blog title, phritzysworld.wordpress.com/feed/I’ll give these a try and let you know how it turns out.
Thanks again.

I would like to suggest that you locate technorati.com on the web. Here’s the link http://www.technorati.com/. Click “sign up” and create a profile then “claim your bog” and “configure your blog”.
Before you do that I would recommend that you first prepare a 250 character summary of what your blog is about to enter at technorati when you configure your blog, as well as, 20 subject tags to enter when you configure your blog. I hope this helps you.

You can also submit it to the three services I use on my webcomic as well. Just add in the HTML code to a Text Widget on your sidebar.
