Rss Widget Issues
-
I’m new to wordpress and am trying to make it so that people can subscribe to my blog. I’ve looked up and found info on how to do so but am not able to.
The problem is, when I follow the directions “go to dashboard- presentation- etc..” When I go to dashboard, the word “presentation” is no where on the page and I see no “sidebar widgets” either.
-
It sounds like you are viewing outdated documentation. The interface has since changed, and Presentation is now known as Design. Your widgets can be managed from Design -> Widgets.
Was the documentation found on WordPress.com? If so, please identify its URL so that we can update it.

Yes I found the document on wordpress as I looked in the forum to try and resolve the issue myself.

Sacred path I have tried to add my Rupee News feed to http://www.pakistanledger.wordpress.com and http://www.pakhistorian.wordpress.com
The syntax I used in RSS widget in design/widget was http://www.rupeenews.com/feed and http://www.moinansari.wordpress.com/feed
However the feed is not flowing through or I am doing something wrong.
I get an error message on the RSS widget which I had added in the sidebar.

I don’t want to only have RSS, technorati favorite, add to digg, etc on my sidebar — i want it to be at the bottom of each of my posts. How do I do that?
-
@moinansari – there is no www in any of those addresses. Not sure if that is what is causing your problem. Your blog feed for http://rupeenews.com/ is http://rupeenews.com/feed/ I can open it in a feed reader with no problem.
@toeinblog – that’s a totally different issue but what you need is Get Social. See it here http://hillelstoler.com/2008/05/18/getsocial-social-bookmarking-for-wordpresscom/
-
Do a search of the forum for “social bookmarking” and you’ll find several different solutions.
