  can someone please explain what the root of a blog is

  Basically the root directory stores the files of a blog or website; it’s the directory that houses the other directories. But we don’t have access to the root directory of blogs on WordPress.com; that’s functionality only WordPress.org blogs have. If you have a .org blog, you need to go over to http://wordpress.org/support

  Or do you mean what is the root of my blog as in, what is the square root of pi? In which case, I’m stumped. :)
