Retrieving Old website posts

  • I used to have a premium account. I had posted essays I wrote which were later plagiarized and used by other people for profit. I am looking to pursue legal against the plagiarizers.

I am looking to see if wordpress has a way I can access an archive of these old posts or the websites so I can use it as evidence.

Is this something that is possible? Should I have a lawyer contact wordpress to go about this process?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

I’m not sure I understand, but I’ve taken a look at https://sleepwalkertattoos.wordpress.com/ and this site (which is the only site on your WordPress.com account) has not been used in 5yrs. Looking in our activity logs I see that it was set up initially with demo content but never used and never upgraded, but has remained a free site without content for it’s entire existence.

Is it possible that the site you created is under a different login with us or are using another provider like GoDaddy, Bluehost, Hostgator, etc. instead? What is the URL of the site you are needing help with?

Happy to check in our system so we can take a closer look.

  • the website url was http://www.sleepwalkertattoo.com

should i contact wordpress.com as well?

  • Hi there,

sleepwalkertattoo.com is an expired custom domain that was connected to medicinaltattooing.wordpress.com, a site that is under a different WordPress.com account than the one you are contacting us from.

Do you happen to have the login credentials for the account associated with the site? If not, you can fill out our account recovery form, and our Accounts Team would be more than happy to assist you in potentially recovering the account:

Let us know if you have any questions.

  • I do have access to it and will use the form. Thank you very much!
