Request to enable New p2 on site
-
Hello!
Please would you add me to the beta testers list and enable the new p2 on my richardtape.wordpress.com site?
Thanks so much,
Rich
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can use P2 right now. We all can. Note that every theme will have a detailed theme description page with set up instructions and a live demo site page that you can consult. Here’s an example:
https://wordpress.com/themes/p2
https://p2demo.wordpress.com/demo.wordpress.com/re: changing themes
Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do some work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme and have done any CSS editing.Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, Browse themes until you find one you like and click the “activate” or the “preview” link, or type in the name of the theme you want to use when it appears.
After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.

Try asking here: http://geto2.com/
Nice theme, I use it on a project management site –
It seems to be stalled in Beta Testing
-
richardtape – I will get you set up and will send you an email when done.
timethief, auxclass – The new P2 theme (aka O2) is available on WordPress.com by request. If you see any requests like this one, please just modlook them and staff will help – thanks!
-
@kathrynwp – I know it’s by request – and that was the only request page I knew of – I also have two o2 sites – one of which is actively being used and I like some of the extra features that I am not yet using –
thanks
-
Rich – I’ve sent you an email with instructions, let me know if it doesn’t come through.

Just a quick question. The P2 Classic once had a setting that allowed any logged in WPcom user to be able to post. Has that been eliminated in both versions?
-
For spam-prevention reasons this doesn’t sound likely – do you remember where you saw this setting?
-
Once upon a time there was a check box like “Allow any logged in WordPress.com user to post” in Writing settings. I thought maybe because my Privacy settings were still set to Private it didn’t appear. But now that it’s Public, I still don’t see that option.
Ah, mystery solved. P2 has it under Theme options, but oddly O2 does not.

I checked with one of the developers – the new P2 does not have an option to allow any logged-in WordPress.com user to post.

The new P2 theme is now available to everyone here:

I’m going to close this thread now but feel free to start a new one for any questions.
