Reblog question

Twice this week there have been re blogs of posts to my blog which I did not initiate. I deleted these posts and the first time it happened I changed my password. In spite of this, the second re blog occurred. Both of these blogs were from Freshly Pressed (Daily Digest and a sewing blog from topics). Has anyone experienced this? Since this happened the first time, I have been very careful in avoiding the WordPress bar at the top of the page.

If any person or any bot is posting anything to your blog then you have provided them with the ability to do so either deliberately by adding them as official users, or by allowing them access to your login information, or by posting content that makes it easy for them to guess what your log-in information is.
Who, aside from you, has access to your login information?
Go to your email program and change the password to a very difficult one because that’s how many hackers gain access to blogs
1. If you can log-in go here > Users > All Users and delete any user that does not belong there.2. Disable post by email > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-by-email/
3. Disable post by voice > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-by-voice/
4. Change your blog password to a very difficult one > http://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/#change-your-password
5. Use a secure, encrypted connection to connect to your Dashboard. Under Users → Personal Settings, check the box that says “Always use HTTPS when visiting administration pages, and click Save Changes.

This is my personal blog which I access from my home computer. No one has passwords, etc. to post. I have never enabled either 3-mail or voice posting.
I changed my e-mail password and activated https for administrating the blog since this second episode.

I can see the two reblog notifications in question in your comment trash.
I think the confusion may be in what a reblog is and why you are getting these notifications.
It’s important to note that anyone can reblog your posts if they are public. This is akin to sharing on Facebook or Twitter, which anyone can also do. It’s a way to share your content and bring more readers to your site.
If you wish to stop receiving reblog notifications, you can change the setting here:

The problem is that someone else’s content was published onto my blog as if I was the person doing the reblogging. I discovered this was happening when I visited my blog and the content was from another blog.

Correct. If you have the reblog notification turned on, there will be comments posted on your blog about others reblogging your content. You can turn that off as I indicated before.

No one was reblogging my content. Someone else’s content was on my site and I did not reblog it there.
Looking at another thread, there is another blogger who has had the same problem. I responded to that thread as well.
The staff person advised setting those posts to Draft and tag for moderators to look at.The thread is “unauthorized post on a blog”

I’m sorry if I misunderstood. I saw two reblog notifications in your comments trash and assumed you referred to those.
Please let me know where the unauthorized reblogs are appearing on your blog so I can look into this for you.

I never received any reblog notifications. If you look again, those items that were in the trash are the two posts that I am referring to at the top of this thread. These posts have now been removed from the trash and set to Draft and tagged for Mod attention as recommended on another thread “unauthorized blog posts” where another blogger is having what appears to be the same problem. No one has re- blogged my content, but somehow two posts were made to my blog. In both cases, those posts were blogs appearing in my WordPress Reader.

Thanks for pointing out those posts. I had not seen those before, so now I understand what you mean.
When you click “reblog” on the WordPress.com Reader or in your admin bar, you are creating a post on your own blog that reblogs the other content. Someone did that on your blog, and the real question is, who did it?
Do you remember reading those blog posts? If not, and you are absolutely positive you did not reblog that content yourself, is it possible someone else uses your computer and did so accidentally while you were still logged in, such as a family member or roommate?
If no one else has access to your computer/your account, you should change your WordPress.com and email passwords immediately in the event someone has access to one of your accounts.

I did not read those posts, but skimmed through my reader from my ipad where I saw the posts in passing but did not read them. There is no one else but me here. I initially wondered if perhaps I hit the reblog button myself, but I’ve discounted that because there is a different confirm screen which I should see, and I did not experience that. All passwords, everywhere have been changed.

It sounds like you have done everything right for now.
I’d recommend keeping an eye on things and let me know if it happens again. If your account is secure and no one can guess your password, and your associated email is also secure, and no one else can access your computer, then no one should be able to post to your blog without your consent.
If something does happen, please let us know immediately.
