Re creating before connecting

    Our HOA has a weebly site and I’d prefer WordPress. Is there a way I can create a site without disconnecting from weebly until I get board approval.

    To be clear, I want weebly site to remain live while I create and present a WordPress site to board

    If not, is there a way to transfer weebly site to WordPress?

    Hey @kgirard411, I’m glad you asked.

    Yes you can start a new site and get it up and going before pointing the domain here. Use https://wordpress.com/support/start/ , and when you’re asked about the domain, just pick a free address for now. When you’re ready, you can add the upgrade that lets you connect your domain.

    We also have a tool for importing content from Weebly to WordPress.com:
    https://transferto.wordpress.com/weebly/

    It likely won’t look exactly like your Weebly site, so I’d recommend importing, adjusting things as you’d like, and then go live by connecting your domain.
