Question about advertising guidelines for wp.com

Add topic to favorites
A friend has a new book release. Can I interview him on my blog and mention the title of his book? Can I post the link to his WordPress book blog and include a photo of him and his product on my blog?

My answers apply strictly to free hosted WordPress.com blogs.

Yes.

There is only one advertising program called WordAds at WordPress.com and it’s for blogs on their own domains. This is the homepage for the WordAds program: http://www.wordads.co/ There you will find the application page as well as FAQs.

Aside from a blog being accepted into WordAds, no blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work or products created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted wordpress.com blogs. E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by wordpress.com

Sorry. Just realized I had “.com” at the end of my blog name. Thanks for helping me realize that. Removed the .com so now you’ll probably be able to find it. Thanks again for answering my question.

Is advertising permitted on sites that use wordpress.com but are domain mapped? (ie GoDaddy)

Or is it only is you use .org?
