Problems with changing blog adress
-
Hi. I had the blog named elafez.wordpress.com and decided to test the “changing blog adress” tool. Unfortunately, I marked that bad option “permanently disable”. I read some comments in the forum telling that the old adress cannot be restored never more. Is that true? Well… and if I create a new login? Can I transfer the content of the blog to this new “person? And more: doing this, can I get that old adress? =\\\\
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The final option presented on this screen allows you to discard your current address. This option will permanently disable the address and you will not be able to reuse it. Only select this option if you are sure you will not use the address again. http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/#instructions-for-changing-your-blog-address

Help. I really need to change my blog address quickly. I think I understand how to do it, but when I go to the screen and highlight that option, I get a message that this tool is temporarily disabled. This is also the message I got all weekend. It sounds like the member above was able to change his address. Why can’t I?
Thanks -
This tool/feature is not available to any users at this time as Staff have temporarily disabled access and are working on overhauling it. When their work is done they will post into the threads on this issue and advise members that it’s available for use again.

Also note that if one needs a quick change of URL and this is such an urgent issue then why mess about with a .wordpress.com sub-domain URL? I say go ahead and purchase a domain name and domain mapping upgrade? Then it doesn’t matter what the underlying .wordpress.press.com sub-domain URL is that you are mapping from to the new domain.
