Posts always shown in full – can they be limited?
-
All my posts are shown in full. As they are rather long, this means a lot of scrolling. It would be nicer, if, as I see on some other blogs (including WP blogs) to have say only the first 25 lines, with a link at the end ‘read more here’ or similar, that expands that post to its full form.
I am currently using ‘Contempt’ – is this setting theme based? I would have expected to see it in Settings > Reading, but it is not there. Otherwise, is it a CSS setting?
thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
And please paste the exact URL of your blog when asking questions here, or link your nickname to your blog (as explained in the Sticky 8 Things to Know Before Posting). We usually need that to give a relevant answer.

Hm – that’s odd – when you post, it indicates just above the post the URL of your own blog, so I was expecting it to put it in…. anyway – http://wolandscat.net
The style I am after is here: http://albertderoos.nl/?cat=9

The URL you post while asking a question here on the wp.COM forums is for staff to determine if your post needs an auto-response to direct you to wp.ORG. We volunteers do not see your link at all.
I am thinking that what you want is the “more tag”:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/Some themes allow you to custom write an excerpt, which is very nice, but not really what you are asking about. If this sounds good to you, here are themes with that option:

Perfect – exactly what I was after! The excerpt option – ‘Contempt’ doens’t use it, but it is not that important to me.
thanks a lot for your help
