Polldaddy Javascript link in notifications
-
I’ve noticed a strange javascript link in some of my notifications. It links to https://polldaddy.com/js/rating/rating.js. See my screenshot for further details: → notification_polldaddy-js.png
I’ve seen several comments in the forum, all complaining about the same issue but none of the topics has been answered by a Automattician/Happiness Engineer.
Based on the feedback in one of the topics this probably has got something to do with enabling ratings for comments and that disabling them would fix the issue.
Is disabling ratings really the only way to get rid of this javascript reference?
And while we’re at it. Since my former topic about the wrong date format in the annual reports has been closed, can someone investigate and tell me when this will be fixed?
Cheers

Hi @iqatrophie, thanks for bringing this to our attention! I’ve just tried enabling comment ratings, but haven’t been able to duplicate this issue yet. I’ll see if I can find some other threads, but if you can provide steps for duplicating the problem, that would help, too.
About the date issue: I can see they’ve done quite a bit of work on the internationalized date formatting since you brought this up. Do you still have the same trouble?

Hi Velda :),
… but if you can provide steps for duplicating the problem, that would help, too. …
Well, that’s pretty simple. I’ve just added a test comment to my recent blog post saying:
Testkommentar – bitte einfach ignorieren
and the notification in the stream shows the same Javascript link mentioned above. Check this new screenshot to see the problem. :)
Do you still have the same trouble?
My publicly accessible annual report for 2015 still says
Mit 198 Besuchern war der Januar 11 der geschäftigste …
but it should read
Mit 198 Besuchern war der 11. Januar der geschäftigste …
Cheers

Interesting, I tried with test comments too on my blog and couldn’t get the error. But someone else here was able to duplicate it, so we’ll be working on that.
And I’ll see what I can find about the date format issue.

@iqatrophie the date issue is fixed now on your report. I’ll keep you updated on the other issue as well.

Any news on this mysterious polldaddy.js link? Since nearly one month has passed, I’m just asking before the forum automatically closes this topic. I’ve tested it on my site and can confirm the problem isn’t fixed yet.
Cheers

Hi @iqatrophie, no fix yet. But I found it was reported here if you’d like to follow that thread:

Thanks for the link Velda. :)(
I’ll keep an eye on that ticket then and hope for the best.
