I need to renew a domain that is now hosted elsewhere and I cannot see how to do this. I DO NOT WANT TO UPGRADE THIS SITE OR THIS BLOG – so every time I post here it points to the WRONG site. I want to give you my $18 but how?????

If you go to http://wordpress.com/purchases do you see the Renew option there?

It just kept showing me the one existing wordpress site I have left – I still have to have a wordpress.com login so I left a site there which I don’t use, so that I can use PollDaddy and Jetpack but I think (I hope) it’s solved as there was one item in my check out which was to renew britwatchsports – I have the steps listed here from the site which hosts the wordpress.org site now:

Are these right? What was worrying me was that I had no way of contacting support to do any of these things. So I have renewed the domain now, but how would I go about contacting you guys next time to go through these steps and transfer the domain management and renewal to my hosts… esepcially without losing service as we are now running as a commercial venture.

You can either keep the domain registration with them, or if you would like to have everything under the same roof, you can transfer the domain to us.

If you decide to transfer the domain over to us, you would want to follow these steps:

– ask your current registrar to unlock your domain name;
– please note you have to have at least 10 days before expiration date of the domain;
– disable whois privacy on the domain;
– make sure you have access to the administrative email of your domain;
– request EPP code from the current registrar as you will need this during the transfer process.
Once you have completed all of the above steps you are ready to proceed with the domain transfer order through our website. All time remaining on your domain will be transferred – you will not lose it. The domain name expiration date will also be extended for one year.

If you have current upgrades, you can contact support here:
https://wordpress.com/help/contact

Just be sure you’re logged into the account that owns the upgrades.

Also, you can transfer your domain to the new provider at any time now. The transfer process will just add another year to your registration. Their steps are correct, so here’s how to complete them from our interface, with pictures:
