Please add Sharing button for Mastodon

If I go to https://wordpress.com/marketing/sharing-buttons in the section “Allow readers to easily share your posts with others by adding sharing buttons throughout your site” there is no button for Mastodon. Given all the recent issues with Twitter it would be great if we could allow sharing to Mastodon!

Meanwhile, according to a staff reply in that thread, if you are using a theme that supports the site editor it’s possible to add it to your navigation menu.

And there is a workaround for adding a Mastodon sharing button, but I agree that having a native button would be the optimal solution.
