    Good evening,

    Would you help me fix this error?

    Warning: fopen(/home/s122248a/public_html/wp-content/plugins/index.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/s122248a/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 6109

    I’m starting to work with a client who had an old WP page, and I got this error from the start.

    I thought that by updating everything, deleting old themes and plugins, updating WP and PHP… I could fix the error but I keep getting it!

    It sounds like the site you’re working with is not hosted here at WordPress.com but instead using the WordPress software (found at WordPress.org), hosted elsewhere.

    Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.
