Pages don't show all my reviews
-
Hi,
If anyone could help me I am having trouble with my A-Z review page. It does not seem to show all of my reviews and has missed out some of my more recent content.
If anyone could suggest a solution to this I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
The category page, https://whataboutthetwinkie.com/category/film-review/, doesn’t necessarily include all of your reviews. It includes only posts assigned the category “Film review.” Might you have forgotten to assign that category to some recent posts?

Hi,
Thanks for replying.
I thought that, and I think I may have missed a few, but for the majority I have assigned the correct category so I’m unsure why they are missing from the A-Z section.
-
Just noted that they seem to stop at “P” as if anything with a Q, R, S and so on aren’t included.

[display-posts category="film-review" posts_per_page="-400" order="ASC" orderby="title"]
This is how the code appears on my edit page.

According to Display Posts Shortcode support page the posts per page value of “-1,” means “every post” or “all posts.” I thought at first that the value you’ve assigned (“-400”) was probably invalid, but apparently it functions the same as “-1.” However, the limit is 100 posts (see the bottom of the support page), which is exactly the number of posts displayed on your A-Z page.

Ah, so no matter how many posts I make the A-Z will only ever contain 100 posts?
That makes sense, even it is a shame.
Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.
Kieron.

Kieron,
You’re welcome.
Ah, so no matter how many posts I make the A-Z will only ever contain 100 posts?
Correct. One way to get around this limitation would be to split up the category page incorporating display post shortcode into smaller parts. For example, sections A-H, I-P, and Q-Z each could include up to 100 posts. You could
- 1. insert three (or more) different shortcodes in a single page
- 2. use the NextPage tag to split a single page up into three, or
- 3. break it up into three separate pages, each a child page of the A-Z page.

To limit the posts displayed by a display posts shortcode to only posts beginning with the letters A-H, you could add the tag “A-H” to each post within that range, then include a “tag=”a-h””argument in the shortcode.

That’s great, thanks! I’ll take a look at this and get going on the maintenance.
Thanks again for your help here.
