P2 theme-control of metadata tagging & who has used it?

  • I noticed in the explanation here about the simple forum template for p2 wordpress.com.

Just curious, can the P2 blog administrator lock down editing /creation of new/present categories and tags from other p2 contributors?

And who has used p2 in an open blog on the Internet?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • As far as I’m aware, the user roles are the same in P2 as they are elsewhere on Wp.com, so no, an administrator can’t lock down admin/tag creation. What you could do is simply create all the categories you want in advance and tell them” Pick from the existing list.”

I’m using P2 on the extranet for my Social Media Club, and frankly I HATE it. HATE HATE HATE it. It’s great if you’re working with robots. If you’re dealing with people who are non-linear thinkers, you might as well shoot them in the head. They’d like you better.

  • :) Your experience is valuable, raincoaster with P2.

Non-linear thinkers are fun people ..if they are organized at the right time too!
