I have a number of categories and, when I open one I get a list of 6-8 recent posts and then the full text of older posts. Some older posts appear or not.
Can I just get the ‘list’ of all post titles within the category? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello!
If I understand correctly, you want someone to click on a category, be taken to a page that displays a list of posts, have the user click on a post, and then be taken to said post? In order to facilitate this you wish to have a list of all the title posts displayed at the top on your pages?
Also, is this a recent phenomenon? If correct,
Couple things:
1. Your theme is currently retired so it may be difficult to resolve your question if your problem is theme related and in trying to recreate the problem.
2. What information I could find on the theme using theInternet Wayback Machine does not appear related to your question.
See also: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2010/03/09/new-theme-titan/3. You might take infinite scroll off to see what happens.
4. You might consider linking posts to pages using the category in a custom menu and then using page jumping to navigate to post.

Hi, there. Well, hopefully, someone else will come along with a better answer. But the theme you are using has been retired. For more information, see: http://theme.wordpress.com/retired/titan/
I’m not personally familiar with that theme, but I haven’t found a way to do what you’re trying to do. If you know CSS (or want to learn), you could probably do it with the Custom Design upgrade
Cheers,

That should be what’s happening automatically. Please give us a direct link to a single post which does not show in the category page, plus the category page.

Hi there,
Our team is currently expanding the Infinite Scroll feature, and some themes may be experiencing bugs with that. I can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to fix this on retired themes, but I reported the issue with the Titan theme so they can take a look. I’ll let you know if I get an update on that issue.

How do readers find an older post with the infinite scroll now on our categories list?
We used to be able to see 20 or so per page, then go to the next page and then go to the url and change the number of the page to go back in time perhaps by years.
Is this really helpful?
-
Any visitor can click any category link on your blog and locate all posts assigned to that category. The same is true for tags.

The URL still changes with Infinite Scroll as you scroll down, so you can still use the same trick to “go back in time.” For example:
http://dandelionsalad.wordpress.com/category/blogging/page/6/

Oh, thank you so much for that info. As it just began today or yesterday, I haven’t looked into it very much.
Of course, will the readers figure it out? I hope so.
timethief, yes, I realize that. The question I posed was whether they could easily find a post from 2007, 100’s if not 1000’s of posts in that particular category or tag?

Since you display a monthly archives widget in your sidebar, it’s quite easy for folks to find posts from 2007 or any other specific year or month. Clicking October 2007 from that widget’s dropdown menu brings me here, for example:
http://dandelionsalad.wordpress.com/2007/10/
A user could manually tweak that URL to find another year or month easily, if they wanted to do it that way instead of selecting another month from the widget.
It’s not possible to go to a specific month or year within a category or tag archives. I don’t think this is a change from the pre-Infinite Scroll behaviour on archives pages, either. :-)
-
Yes, I know about the Archives widget and have one on my blog. However, what we are talking about is when a reader clicks on a tag or category and needs to find a post published a long time ago.
I’m glad the url changes as one scrolls down the page, just don’t know if readers will figure that out on their own. Maybe they will.
Funny that you chose Oct 2007. I published 495 posts that month. It wouldn’t be very easy to find any one in particular.
And since we are talking about the infinite scroll, how about a “go to the top” button? I use the one WP has for us who are logged in all the time. Would be nice for the readers to have something like that, too.

koreanwedding, you don’t have any categories on your blog and not that many posts. Do you have another blog that is having this problem?
-
I was trying to buy other themes to overcome the problem. My customers are complaining big time!…Sigh…
Since you asked, I’ve changed it to Photographer Theme again. The exact page I’m having problem with is… http://koreanconceptweddingphotography.wordpress.com/category/gallery_korean-wedding-photo-seoul/

Please help! The photographer theme is still not fixed yet.

I’m closing this thread since the original issue with Titan is now fixed.
If anyone runs into the Infinite Scroll on categories/archives issue on any other theme that has not yet been reported, feel free to start a new thread.
