Previously…(for the past 5 years) I would just sit down and type my Blog and it was super easy …..no templates and when I wanted to insert a photo…just click on the plus sign and it gave me the option of my google photos or the photos on my computer. I don’t understand the template idea , nor the use of Blocks and can’t find how to insert my pictures.

As for the templates – they are there so you can create a page with just one click and replace the dummy content with your own. You can, however, choose a blank page and type in your content as usual.

With the new Block Editor you can still type your content and add images easily, it just also gives you more options if you’d like to have more control over the look of your posts/pages.
