"No Information is Available for this Page"

  • Hello everyone

Recently one of my sites most high traffic pages stopped getting any views. I looked into this and realised that my site is now incredibly hard to find on google search. In addition to that, when it does eventually show up in the results there is no site description at all. Here is what I have tried.

    1. waited – for >7 days hoping that google will crawl the site in time but this has not worked

    2. submitted the site to google to request it to be crawled but this has not changed anything

    3. inserted the site url into google’s robots.txt tester and it says that my site is ALLOWED to be accesed by google

I am not sure what more I can do really. How do I get my site description to show up?

  • Hi there, it looks like peaklagger.com is using the standalone WP software and hosted with BlueHost. These forums are for sites hosted on WordPressdotcom. Here’s a description about some of the differences between WordPressdotcom (where we are) and standalone WP: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you have questions about your WP site, you’ll want to head over to the support forums at https://wordpress.org/support If you don’t have a username there you can register one on that page.

You might also check with Google for search engine assistance: https://www.google.com/webmasters/support/

Hope that helps and best wishes.

  • Hi there,

Your site is not hosted with us here on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress software found on WordPress.org, so we have no control over your SEO, or any other settings.

That said, it’s normal that a post can rank very high in search results one day, and very low the next. Google’s algorithms constantly adjust the ranking of posts as new content gets published on the web. The best you can do is optimise your site by following SEO best practices, but beyond that it’s in Google’s (and other search engines’) hands.

Regarding the site description, that’s set in your site’s meta tags. Most people use a plugin to control that. The best place to ask for help with those settings on your site is the WordPress.org forums, as that’s the forum for the version of WordPress you’re using:
