Newbie needs help getting started

Add topic to favorites
Not sure if this is an error or if I’m completely out of my mind, but I have yet to find where to begin my blog. I have claimed a name, received my activation, signed in, etc., but have no options to do anything now that I’m in. Can’t add an entry, can’t customize, nothing. Any advice?

Check out the FAQ at the head of the forums here for some starting links. We also have the FAQ as well.

When you login, there on your Dashboard are links for Write a post, change your theme, and other stuff.

There is an error because these links weren’t showing up. Once I created a new blog, they appeared — for the new blog, but not the original one.

Let me provide some more info here so that it’s clear I’m not a complete moron (plenty of convincing likely necessary). When I go to http://theburab.wordpress.com, I get a “Not Found” message. When I go to wordpress.com and sign in, the only blog I have listed under “Your Blogs” is theburab2. This was created under my same account, theburab. Previously, no blogs were listed in this space.

Well, the notfound is there because you’ve erased your Hello World post. You can write a new post by clicking on that Write a Post link on the Dashboard when you sign in or in the drop down menu along the top of any wp.com pahe when you’re logged in.

Not sure about the missing blog since I don’t have backend access. Best bet would be to submit a feedback using the feedback link at the top right corner of your blog’s backend. Or you can use this LInk as well.

I seem to have the same problem.

Enabled this blog: http://goredom.wordpress.com/

but can’t find any trace of any dashboard anywhere.

I’ve tried to log out, delete my cookies, log in again, but this dashboard just won’t show up.

I’ve been looking for a day now soon, and on my way to give up WordPress.

Have you tried what Dr Mike suggested above? God knows I’m slow, but I was able to get the WordPress blog up and running within a couple of days. They start you off with filler posts, and you have to go in and change those over to your own custom content.

This has nothing to do with the skill set of the user. We need to listen to what people are saying. And a lot of folk are experiencing a touch of difficulty on the install right now. Mark if you have a mo…………..
