New problems in Twenty Eleven
-
@kokkieh, I’m mentioning you because you helped me with the previous problem:
https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/my-background-image-disappeared/
When we select a feature image in a post, in the Twenty Eleven theme, and it is equal to the size of the Header image, there is a replacement. Otherwise, the feature image is highlighted (for example, in the Showcase template), but the image of the Header remains in that specific post.
Today I realized that there was a change, and where the feature image is not big enough to replace the Header, it is left with nothing.
I believe this is a bug and not an intentional change. Am I right?

On my own website it is not possible to see, as I had to modify the posts due to this problem. However, in the theme demo we have the following:
1) Two featured posts in the showcase template (https://twentyelevendemo.wordpress.com/showcase/):

https://twentyelevendemo.wordpress.com/2011/05/04/featured-posts-in-twenty-eleven/
2) The first is one that has a feature image that replaces that of the Header;
3) The second one has a feature image that does not replace the Header. Since yesterday, in this case, no Header has appeared.

Yeah, that is weird. Here’s how it workin in 2013: https://web.archive.org/web/20131209175521/https://twentyelevendemo.wordpress.com/2011/05/04/featured-posts-in-twenty-eleven/
vs. now: https://twentyelevendemo.wordpress.com/2011/05/04/featured-posts-in-twenty-eleven/
We’ll look into this, thanks!

This issue is not WordPress.com-specific, so I have filed it at https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/52516

@staff-blorbo, they are reporting in the topic that you opened on WP.org that the problem has been solved. Why in the demo I linked above there was no change? Does the correction take time to resonate?
-
The fix has been merged into core. Up next is for that fix to be released and then for us to bring it over here to WordPress.com.

-
Today was the released of WP 5.7, so what does this mean for solving this problem on WP.com?
-
-
I don’t want to look boring, but just to inform me, in general these new versions of WP take how long to run on WP.com? Am I right in thinking that it will solve this problem with Twenty Eleven?
-
Hi,
The update is now complete – it always takes a couple of days to update the WordPress version on WordPress.com.
As for the theme bug, it seems to have been fixed already: https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/52516.
-
Thanks for the answer. The correction still does not appear:
https://twentyelevendemo.wordpress.com/2011/05/04/featured-posts-in-twenty-eleven/
But I will wait .

I just tested it on my website and, just like in the demo above, the problem persists. I ask: the update of the themes is done at once when the new version is installed or it takes some time to resonate?
-
Hello there,
It does take some time to resonate and we do appreciate your patience while this gets rolled out.
We’re nearly there! :)
