Is there a way to have an email commenter receive a response directly in addition to having the comment response posted on the blog? Some of my email followers never see my response.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your subscribers control delivery frequency when it comes to receiving your posts and when it comes to receiving comments on posts. https://wordpress.com/?ssl=forced#!/settings/subs-delivery/
If they wish to be notified of every comment received on a post they can checkmark the comment notifications box on any post.There are two types of comment notifications:
1. A plain text email with the comment’s email address. This is sent to you if you are the blog owner and chose to be notified of new comments.2. An HTML email is sent to you if you chose to subscribe to the particular comment thread. Note: There will be an Unsubscribe link at the bottom of the emails.

Tks TT. But they don’t want ALL comments, only my reply to THEIR comment. An enhancement request???

I understand that and provided their settings are correct that ought to be happening. Your subscribers must also make sure that ‘Block e-mails’ at https://wordpress.com/?ssl=forced#!/settings/subs-delivery/ is unchecked.

Sorry timethief but as I understand your first response, they would sign up for my blog, and also sign up to receive comments on any post. BUT wouldn’t they then get ALL of the comments on that post? They don’t want that – remember we get 100+ comments on a post so they don’t want 100 emails, I’d just like them to get my single reply to their single comment. Are you saying that’s possible? I checked the link you provided and don’t see a way to make that happen. Hate to be a dope, apologies for not getting it :-(

I think timethief may have misunderstood. There is not currently a way to subscribe to comment replies just for your own comments on WordPress.com. You must subscribe to all the comments on a post or none.

@timethief, whew, for a second I thought the feature had been updated and I’d totally missed it! lol
@trschell, it’s a great idea! I posted it as a suggestion in one of our ideas lists that’s reviewed periodically.
