Hi newstripodindia,
Can you share the url of your site?
Also, here is a support document with a step by step guide to setup a site-icon (favicon).
Let us know (with the url of your site) if you’re facing any issues.
I hope it helps :)

Hi,
I’d be happy to see if I can help out too! :) What I noticed is that when I’m in the Customizing Site Identity area, if I click on the Gear Tool (by the Publish button) 3 Actions will come up. I always like to check and make sure that the Publish button is highlighted before I continue any further.
Hope this helps! :)

You do not own any sites on WordPress.com, which means you’re using the open source WordPress software. The favicon is most likely being cached on your server. You’ll need to contact your hosting provider to find out how you can force that cache to refresh.
For more help with the version of WordPress you’re using you can go to https://wordpress.org/support/
