  Is this a new devolution or a glitch? It’s been happening (or rather not happening) for a few months now.

  Hi there,

  The notification icon should still turn orange in the black admin bar, and on pages showing the blue admin bar it will show an orange dot instead of the entire icon changing.

  If this isn’t happening, please try clearing your browser cache and cookies. Also make sure you have JavaScript enabled in your browser, and try disabling any browser extensions like ad-blockers or anti-malware extensions that might be blocking JavaScript to see if that makes any difference.
