Move footer widget to top in Coraline
-
Hi there, I’m using the Coraline theme and just wondering if I can move one of the footer widgets to the top – either under or above the header image – to put my logo in. I’d like to keep both the site title & header image as they are – I don’t want to replace either of them with the logo.
(I think I’ve worked out, using the forum, how to put the logo image into a text widget…would that work using an image widget too?)
I’m just using the free version, so I don’t have CSS access.
Hope that makes sense!

Hello,
Widget areas generally appear in specific places. The footer widget is designed specifically to appear at the bottom of your pages. It cannot be moved elsewhere.
The Coraline theme does not have a widget area available in the location you’re talking about.
Perhaps you could use an image editing program to add your logo to the nice header image you have.
Otherwise, you’ll need to choose a different theme to get what you need.
Good luck!

Thanks! And sorry for the delayed thanks, I’m only working on this in my 1-day per week role.
I have had a re-think of what I’m really after…I got inspired by reading an old support post here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/logo-instead-of-text-heading-coraline-by-automattic-theme?replies=20
So now I’m seeing two options for what I want:
1) try to get a kind person to do for me what was done on that post (I can manage to put together an appropriate PNG that would combine my page title and logo, but I can’t do the code)
2) Put together such a PNG and use it as the header image, getting rid of the site title…maybe I can make it a coloured strip.I prefer option 1, because I’d still like to be able to have a photo as my page header…but if option 2 is the only one you think will work, I’ll go with that!
Thanks again for your help.
Kirrily
