More options for plugins

Hello,
I was trying to find a simple calendar plugin, found a google calendar, but apparently it cant be added anymore. (it doesnt give the option to insert plugins found outside wordpress)
Is there any way to overcome this plugin limitations?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
Most of the popular plugins are included automatically within all the site hosted on WordPress.com. Other plugins can’t be added to WordPress.com regardless of the upgrade.
If you want to get buttons on your site, then perhaps you may consider self-hosting WordPress.ORG.
