Missing first item from Upcoming Events

    Upcoming Events widget is missing the first item. I have confirmed that the event is present in the Google ICS feed, but it doesn’t show up in the sidebar. Below is an extract from the ICS feed (spacing added for readability). The first of these events (which is scheduled for this morning, though we noticed the problem yesterday) is the one that is missing.

    I have a complete copy of the feed as of the time of this writing, in case debugging extends past the time of the event itself.

    According to these values, the event is is scheduled for July 6, 2013 (2013/07/06). If the event is actually happening today, could you please double-check the date/time of the event in your calendar in Google?

    Great catch; thank you. I would have sworn I had it right — but perhaps this will teach me not to submit support requests at 6:00 a.m. after an all-nighter.

    I went back into the ICS feed after a good night’s sleep, and this was the item I was actually looking at:

    DTSTART;TZID=America/New_York:20130612T140000
    DTEND;TZID=America/New_York:20130612T183000
    RRULE:FREQ=WEEKLY;UNTIL=20131030T180000Z;BYDAY=WE

    Still not the right date — but the key is that it is a WEEKLY event, which is not supported by the widget. So I have my answer, and we can close this thread.

    I’m glad that you were able to figure out the issue.

    Unfortunately, you’re correct about the Upcoming Events widget not currently supporting recurring events. For what it’s worth, there’s a ticket open to provide support for recurring events, but I don’t have a timeframe for when that update will be made available.
