Masked Redirect to my WordPress Blog

  • Hi I have had a quick search on the forum and can’t find much on this subject so I thought I would pose this question.

I have setup my blog, http://thegilmours.wordpress.com and am using the theme Rubric1.0

I have also set up a masked redirect from my homepage using http://diary.thegilmours.net

However when I use the redirect to get to the blog and scroll down the text from the header and the right hand column merge into each other.

Accessing the blog using thegilmours.wordpress.com doesn’t create this pheneomena…. perhaps a couple of others can have a look at the blog and see if the same happens to you.

    Thanks

  • That’s because you’re not doing a redirect. You’ve got the WP.com site in frames. That’s why the three columns are merging at the bottom. (Your left one is as well.)

Congrats on Heather as well. :)

  • That’s actually normal behavior for a “masked” or “stealthed” redirect – generally loads into a frame. Some hosts handle that better than others….

  • Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. Didn’t know the reason why it was doing it but it helps to know that others see the same issue and that it is not just my browser or something stupid like that.

    Many thanks

  • Just a quick update, changing the theme means that the problem doesn’t surface
